PhD and postdoc researchers who would like to validate their research in the market or need help with a feasibility study can apply for UtrechtInc's .

Business incubator UtrechtInc guides entrepreneurs and researchers with an innovation to a successful company. In the validation programme, they work at an accelerated pace towards a scalable business model, paying customers and a working product.

Usually, these programmes are short and intensive. Tailor-made for researchers of Utrecht ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ and UMC Utrecht, there is a part-time programme of ten months, which combines well with ongoing research. Startups like ,  and  preceded you.

Societal impact with fundamental research

"The programme opens new doors and allows you to grow in a short amount of time. It is fantastic to see how the results of fundamental research get a useful place in society," says Roland Geraerts, who founded the startup uCrowds based on his research into crowdsimulation. "I participated in the programme to find out if entrepreneurship suits me, and to write a business plan for the NWO Take-off Phase 1 grant, which we also obtained."

New edition starts this April

The Science Validation Program takes place twice a year. On April 7, a new edition starts. Apply before March 23^rd to qualify for a spot.
