On June 19th 2025, will organize an event as part of the UGlobe student engagement initiative. The event brings together artists, activists, healthcare providers and the general public to address challenges to Gaza's medical education landscape and support Gaza鈥檚 medical students.

This summer, we bring Poetry for Palestine to the streets of Utrecht. Together with many active organizing communities; Utrecht Medics for Gaza, , , , and a growing circle of students, artists, healthcare workers, and citizens; we are building an open space for poetry, resistance, and solidarity.

A joint effort to raise voices, funds, and support for Gaza鈥檚 medical students. All proceeds will go to support health education efforts through .

Program

18:00 Sit-in and gathering at Utrecht Centraal (we walk together)
            organized by Utrecht4Palestine
19:00 Shared Palestinian-inspired dinner at Mariaplaats
            cheffed by Rawan and her volunteers
19:30 Open-air poetry and program at Mariaplaats

What to expect

  • Live poetry and spoken word
  • Stories of resilience and cultural heritage
  • Palestinian-inspired food
  • A space for reflection, community, crafts for adults and children, and resistance

This will be an open, public gathering. Come when you can and bring your friends, neighbours, children, and solidarity.
