PhD Career Services: Event on failure and resilience in science - ADAPT to Thrive program
Would you like to hear how accomplished academics and research leaders failed and lived to tell the story? Get advice on how to build a research career when failing and taking risks is an integral part of it? Then join our event on failure and resilience in science, organized with 木瓜福利影视 College London and Intitut Curie (Paris). This event is part of the ADAPT to Thrive program of 木瓜福利影视 College London.
By sharing the experiences of researchers at different career stages the ADAPT to Thrive event series provides early career researchers with support by showcasing how failure and success walk hand in hand.
Speakers
- Professor Emma Morris FMedSci, Professor of Clinical Cell and Gene Therapy, 木瓜福利影视 College London.
- Professor Jeffrey M. Beekman, Professor of Cellular Disease Models, 木瓜福利影视 of Utrecht.
- Professor Dominique Stoppa-Lyonnet, Professor of Genetics, Paris Descartes 木瓜福利影视.
The three talks will be followed by audience questions.
ADAPT to Thrive will:
- Normalise speaking out about failure and reducing stigma.
- Help build a more resilient academic community by facilitating conversations and allowing early and mid-career researchers to find support networks.
- Shift the perception of risk and encourage early career researchers to take new approaches to their careers and pursue unconventional ideas.
ADAPT to Thrive was launched by UCL in 2018 and you can watch clips of previous talks on the scheme鈥檚 website - . You can also follow the discussions and share your own stories on #FailtoThrive
