The national open science festival provides researchers the opportunity to learn about the benefits of various open science practices. It is a place to meet peers that are already working openly or are interested in start doing so.

On 1 September 2022, the second edition of the Netherlands National Open Science Festival will take place at the Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam. Registration is free of charge. Registration is only required for in-person attendance. The plenary and Open Science in Policy sessions will be live-streamed. To watch these, you don鈥檛 need to register. All other workshops and sessions will be held in-person only given their interactive nature.

Programme Open Science Festival 2022

There will be two parallel tracks, Open Science in Practice and Open Science in Policy. Open Science in Practice will consist of community-led, interactive workshops and sessions that focus on what Open Science means in the everyday work of researchers in the Netherlands. The track Open Science in Policy will shed light on institutional, national and international policies that give shape to Open Science in the Netherlands. Current developments, challenges and opportunities will be discussed, including the updated Netherlands National Open Science Programme.
