People are becoming alienated from nature. They spend a lot of time indoors, glued to a screen. In his book Biophilia, author Frank O. Wilson urges us to rediscover the positive effect that paying attention to nature has on people. ľ�ϸ���Ӱ�� lecturer Dr Flora Roberts gives guided tours of the courtyard and tells you more about biophilia and how it is being researched at Utrecht ľ�ϸ���Ӱ��.

AI is usually portrayed as the villain threatening the climate: energy-guzzling, carbon-intensive and part of the problem. That image is not incorrect, but there are more sides to the story. In this lecture, Professor of Theoretical Philosophy Jan Broersen turns the script around. He wants to show how AI can actually help solve the climate crisis by exerting a positive influence on our political processes. If we go the right way about this matter, AI can become an ally rather than an enemy of climate action.

Fiction and science fiction may offer a possible way out. Imagining a different world is like a laboratory for our collective vision of the future. In this English-language workshop, and Wouter de Rijk, PhD candidate at Utrecht School of Governance, ask participants to form a citizens' assembly. Max and Wouter will challenge you with various questions to look beyond the horizon of the climate crisis.

Utrecht adventurer Robin Aanstoot travels from Norway to Portugal by bicycle and surfboard, searching for hopeful stories and visiting initiatives that are committed to combatting plastic pollution. A documentary filled with inspiring interviews, fantastic events and the natural beauty of the European coast. The documentary will be followed by a discussion with Robin Aanstoot.
