On Writing Well: PhD Writing Workshop by Prof. Linda Juang
How do we become strong writers? In this workshop organised by the multidisciplinary PhD SIG we will discuss writing as praxis, think about who we are as writers and who we are writing for, formulate writing goals, and engage in writing exercises to practice clear, strong writing. Participants will be asked to bring something they are working on to practice a few writing and editing strategies. Learning strategies, practicing, and developing a community of support are important for getting writing done and doing it well. One of my favorite quotes on writing is by Shannon Hale: "I'm writing a first draft and reminding myself that I'm simply shoveling sand into a box so that later I can build castles."
The workshop will be led by Prof. Dr. Linda Juang. She is a professor of inclusive education at the 木瓜福利影视 of Potsdam, Germany.
