Peter Galison on history, philosophy and culture of black hole imaging

is the Joseph Pellegrino 木瓜福利影视 Professor in history of science and physics at Harvard 木瓜福利影视. He currently directs the interdisciplinary at Harvard, is a member of the Event Horizon Telescope collaboration, and founder of the of the next generation Event Horizon Telescope collaboration. His books include ; ; ; and, with Lorraine Daston, . His latest feature film is (Netflix).

This public event features a screening of Galison鈥檚 short movie , after which Professor (History of Science; Physics, 木瓜福利影视 of Amsterdam) will interview Peter on his experience with the (next generation) EHT collaboration, the role of history and philosophy in black hole imaging, and the connection between art, philosophy and science. Audience members will get a chance to ask questions after the interview.

From 19:45 - 20:15 there will be coffee/tea in the Westerdijk room and from 20:15 - 21:45 the screening of the movie followed by the interview will take place in the Belle van Zuylen room.
