In his key-note, Gert Biesta will reflect with us on the relationship between society and education, a fundamental aspect of the purpose of higher education. Biesta:
鈥淎t this moment, the emphasis in education is on knowledge and skills, and mainly cognitive achievements are valued. There is a need for a broader view on what good education is, in which qualification and socialization are embedded in subjectification aimed at wanting to be an adult in the world. This is not only important for the individual, but also for the quality of our democratic society and the limits that ecological problems poses to our lives and society.鈥
