On June 5th 2025,  will organize an event as part of the UGlobe student engagement initiative. The event brings together students and experts on External Relations and Security to discuss how European strategies are shaped by recent developments.

As recent global events have disrupted traditional alliance systems, there is a renewed focus in Europe on strategic autonomy. With growing cracks in the transatlantic alliance, the key question remains: how will European policies be affected with the diminishing United States interest in European security?

GA and SIB would like to invite you to 鈥淚ndependent Europe,鈥 a joint event where we will focus specifically on External Relations and Security, inviting experts to discuss how recent developments are likely to shape European strategies in these areas. The event鈥檚 mission is to discuss the future of European policies and strategies, as we head for uncharted territories.

First, our speakers , a lecturer in European Studies and International Relations at Leiden 木瓜福利影视, and , a Policy Officer at NATO HQ, will give a talk on the topic and share their expertise. Next, there will be a panel discussion during which participants can ask their questions and engage in discussion. Thanks to our experts, we hope to make sense of what lies ahead for the European continent.
