How can we respond to the vulnerabilities of AI-dominated societies?

The rapid spread of data analytics and AI has led to a troubling and potentially dangerous dynamic that makes not just companies but entire economies vulnerable and harms progress. Professor Mayer-Schönberger analyses these situations of vulnerability and harm and examines policies to remedy this challenge. ‘Access Rules’ is a powerful and urgent call to action: to improve our lives and our societies, we must demand open access to data for all.

Bio

is the Professor of Internet Governance and Regulation at Oxford. His research focuses on the role of information in a networked economy. He has published eleven books, including the international bestseller “Big Data” (co-authored with Kenneth Cukier, translated into more than 20 languages), “Learning with Big Data” (authored with Kenneth Cukier) and the awards-winning “Delete: The Virtue of Forgetting in the Digital Age” with Princeton ľ�ϸ���Ӱ�� Press (also available in multiple languages). He is the author of over a hundred articles and book chapters on the economics and governance of information.
