On Thursday 2 October, we invite you to an evening full of stories, music and taste. We are kicking off Literature Month with an evening dedicated to One Book One Campus: this year, the ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ Library is organising the sixth edition of this reading event for all students, staff and alumni of Utrecht ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ. Everyone reads the same book, meets other readers and shares experiences. The focus is on reading pleasure and meeting new people.

The book chosen for 2025 is Birnam Wood by Eleanor Catton, a compelling eco-thriller about what happens when deeply held principles collide with obscene wealth. Programma:  

• 5:00 â€“ 7:00 p.m.: Happy Hour with live music (free entry)
• 6:00 – 6:05 p.m.: Welcome – a brief introduction to Literature Month and the evening’s theme: Stories that connect
• 6:05 – 6:30 p.m.: Literary storytelling – compelling tales and recitations by authors, poets, or storytellers, reflecting on language, identity, memory, and connection
• 7:15 – 9:00 p.m.: October Daily Special – enjoy a delicious meal full of surprising flavours while engaging in conversation with colleagues, alumni, and guests (reservation required)
• 9:00 p.m.: End of the evening

The cost of the October Daily Special is €17.50 per person. Drinks are at your own expense.
