Engage Actually #3: Stakeholder Engagement at Science and Geosciences
Do you already collaborate a lot with companies, politicians, policymakers, or citizens, or do you still find it difficult to reach and involve the right people? What鈥檚 the real value of involving parties outside the university in your research, and what鈥檚 in it for them? Would you like to learn what works, which pitfalls to avoid, how to align your research or project with what different groups find important, or perhaps share your own experiences with colleagues?

Then Engage Actually 2025 is the event for you. On Tuesday afternoon, December 2, we warmly invite you to the Grand Caf茅 of Vening Meineszgebouw A for an interactive session on stakeholder engagement.
Programme
Experts from the Faculties of Science and Geosciences will share their experiences working with specific stakeholder groups: from politicians and policymakers to businesses and citizens. Afterwards, we will break into smaller groups to get to know these different types of stakeholders better: What is their perspective? What do they value? How and where can you reach them?

We will close the event in plenary with the deans of both faculties, Prof. Dr. Isabel Arends (Science) and Prof. Dr. Annemarie van Wezel (Geosciences). They will reflect on the findings and share their vision for stakeholder engagement within their faculties.
As always, this year鈥檚 Engage Actually will again feature an inspiration market: posters showcasing inspiring examples of public engagement and stakeholder engagement. During walk-in, the break, and the networking drinks, you can browse these examples and discuss them with other attendees.
Who is it for?
The event is primarily aimed at staff from the Faculties of Science and Geosciences, but a limited number of spots are also available for students and participants from outside these two faculties. Feel free to sign up, we will confirm your participation no later than two weeks in advance.
