Debye Nobel Prize Lectures Chemistry and Physics
The Nobel Prizes have been awarded last week:
- Chemistry - Susumu Kitagawa, Richard Robson & Omar Yaghi for Metal Organic Frameworks (beautitful microporous materials, relevant for energy applications)
- Physics - John Clarke, Michel Devoret and John Martinis for demonstrating quantum mechanical tunneling being relevant also for mesoscale objects .
Following the tradition of Debye to organise a Nobel Prize Lecture if topic is related to research in Debye (Nanomaterials Science for Sustainability), we are happy to invite you this year to two short lectures:
- 12.00 Nobel Prize Chemistry – Bert Weckhuysen
- 12.40 Nobel Prize Physics – Ingmar Swart/Machteld Kamminga
These experts will briefly explain the topic for which the prize has been awarded, and give their personal vision, also on the connection to research in Utrecht
