Lecture Overview
Since Malcolm Gladwell鈥檚 The Tipping Point and Gartner鈥檚 adoption curve, many have come to see social transitions as sudden leaps鈥攆rom state A to state B(etter). But is that really how change works? And what are the risks of imagining it that way? Ammy explores the mind traps shaping today鈥檚 understanding of change鈥攅specially the belief that sustainability means reaching a 鈥渂etter鈥 end state. Complexity offers another view: sustainability lies in our capacity to adapt and evolve, balancing stability and change. What can nature teach us about transformation鈥攁nd how might we interpret those lessons? We may not have all the answers, but perhaps our greatest contribution is helping society change how it sees change itself.

There will be 45-min lecture from the speaker, followed by a 15-min discussion session.
