Alumnus 1: Giel Scheepers

Master's programme: Bio Inspired Innovation
Current position: Trainee Waterschapstalent
After Giel finished his master Bio Inspired Innovation he wasn't sure what he wanted to do. He did not feel like doing a PhD or working at a large company. Working at a start-up or in a big municipality seemed like interesting options. After a few applications for different traineeships, Giel got to choose between a traineeship organized by a few waterboards (waterschappen) and a start-up, and he is glad he chose the traineeship!
Alumnus 2: Sebastiaan During

Master's programme: Science and Business Management
Current position: Product specialist
Sebastiaan studied science and business management from 2017 to 2019 after finishing a bachelor studies in Biomedical Sciences. During his studies he realised that he genuinely is interested in how the human body works and decided he wanted to keep working in a (semi) medical environment. However, he also realised the lab wasn鈥檛 for him. Therefore Sebastiaan decided to start working for a pharmaceutical company, starting his first proper job as a salesman of drugs for diabetes. At first, he wasn鈥檛 sure if he would like this environment. He had previous experience in sales, so he thought he鈥檇 give it a try. The job contains a lot of networking - something Sebastiaan does particularly enjoy but can be difficult in the first year on the job. Once your network is established, business can really start thriving. In addition to the satisfaction he gains from working in his current role, it also is a great start for a career within the pharmaceutical environment. On the 24th of February, Sebastiaan will give a short presentation in which he will break down typical day-to-day work, discuss the things he do enjoys but also the things that are less exciting. Of course, he will elaborate on all your questions that you may have!
