Bridging the Gap: Algorithmic Fairness in Public Health
On 4th July 13:00 – 14:00 Sara Altamirano Ortega (UvA) will visit our department and give a talk titled “Bridging the Gap: Algorithmic Fairness in Public Health” (B.109 / remote in case of interest). Sara’s work explores algorithmic bias and fairness in public health research.
Sara will discuss a recent systematic review of Dutch public health research, introduce two practical frameworks, and would like to ask for your input towards developing a policy-informing fairness toolkit tailored to real-world machine learning challenges in public health.
