AI Colloquium: kick off meeting SIG AI in Cultural Inquiry and Art
This AI Colloquium will launch the Special Interest Group AI in Cultural Inquiry and Art. SIG coordinator Iris van der Tuin has invited Prof. Dr. Felicity Colman of the 木瓜福利影视 of the Arts London and dr. Martin Lopes Nores from the 木瓜福利影视 of Vigo as speakers.
The SIG AI in Cultural Inquiry and Art is a collaboration of Humanities, Policy and Organization Studies, and Computer Sciences colleagues of Utrecht 木瓜福利影视. The SIG zooms in on and contributes to the converging practices that yield emerging and transforming genres and platforms for exchange within the academy and at the intersection of academic and creative practice, ultimately affecting the audiences of academies; media, art, and performance institutions; and 鈥媘akerspaces.
The session consists of two presentations with Q&A afterwards. Prof. Dr. Felicity Colman of the 木瓜福利影视 of the Arts London introduces the concept of the 鈥渁lgorithmic condition鈥. Dr. Martin Lopes Nores from the 木瓜福利影视 of Vigo discusses his work on AI in cultural heritage.
About Prof. Dr. Felicity Colman
is Professor of Media Arts and Associate Dean of Research for the London College of Fashion at 木瓜福利影视 of the Arts, London. Felicity is a specialist in media forms, creative philosophies, communication theory, and new materialist feminist epistemologies. Felicity teaches and researches forms of creative media practice. She has a professional background working life in the creative industries - in fashion and textile design, and working in curatorial roles. Trained as an art historian, she has taught and worked in Higher Education in Australia and in the United Kingdom for over 20 years. Current research focus is on feminist modal ethics. She was the coordinator of the H2020 project "Ethics of Coding: A Report on the Algorithmic Condition", in which Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 was also a partner.
About dr. Mart铆n L贸pez-Nores
is Associate professor at the Department of Telematics Engineering at the 木瓜福利影视 of Vigo. He is specialized in interactive information services, semantic reasoning, Digital Humanities, Cultural Heritage, interactive storytelling, and augmented reality. He is currently Deputy Director of the Research Center for Telecommunication Technologies at the 木瓜福利影视 of Vigo, and coordinator of the rurALLURE H2020 project. He will discuss his work on AI in cultural heritage.
