Local, delicious and seasonal; The best veggies for fall.

Eating seasonal vegetables is easier than some might think. Groentetas has been selling bags containing local, seasonal and mostly organic vegetables for 25 years now. And since their producer just started their own farm, their vegetables can't get any more local than they are now! Discover what veggies are in season right now, a great new recipe that you could make with them, and instructions on how to order a Groentetas below.

With cold weather and short days you need all the vitamins you can get, so trying to get the best vegetables is very important. Doing this while also being sustainable is even better, so try and go for seasonal and local veggies, as they have much more taste and do not have to be shipped all the way from other countries for you to enjoy them. Fall vegetables are a lot more diverse than people often think, and they include: beets, carrots, cauliflowers, pumpkins, eggplants, zucchinis and much more.

For six euros you get a bag with some veggies, apples and pears. Accompanied by a weekly newsletter with some recipes, eating local, sustainable and seasonal vegetables has never been this easy.

A Groentetas can be ordered through the Groentetas website (wednesdays at the latest for the following week) or can be ordered at one of their stands (also for the following week). By ordering in advance and making people bring their own bags, Groentetas' maintains a zero-waste model.

The vegetables can be picked up every Monday between 11:00 and 14:00 at the Groentetas stand in the Educatorium Restaurant (Leuvenlaan 19) and every Tuesday between 11:00 and 14:00 at HKU Oudenoord (Art school, Oudenoord 700).
