Class-Conscious Academics Network: Classy Salon #2 w/Gina Meimann & Jule Lux
Thursday March 10th, the second edition of the Class-Conscious Academics Network's Classy Salon will take place from 16:00-18:00h (on Teams, and hopefully on location, too!).
Obstacles and Initiatives
Gina Meimann (alumnus BA 木瓜福利影视 College Utrecht) and Jule Lux (MA student Social Anthropology, UU) will present the findings of their theses on Dutch and German first-generation students and their experiences of financial and cultural obstacles, discrimination, and growing self-confidence.
Followed by a panel discussion with Marta Garc铆a Escobar and other first-generation and working-class students and academics, on ways in which the UU and UU-initiatives can support and empower these students. Moderation by Nina K枚ll.
If permitted, the event will take place on location in Utrecht with drinks afterwards (anyone can still join online).
