The Faculty Club, in collaboration with the International Neighbour Group, organizes a series of lectures (‘This is our ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ’) on a range of interesting, compelling topics, delivered by university professors of Utrecht ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ.

Learning Trust in a Digital Society
José van Dijck is a distinguished university professor of media and digital society at Utrecht ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ. Her research area is media studies and communication and her work focuses on social media, media technologies, and digital culture.
In her lecture José van Dijck will address the way in which social media influence the process of ‘learning’: learning to trust information (fake news), the influence of social media on the learning process and the so-called ‘platformization’ of the learning environment. She will refer to some recent examples to illustrate how social media can have an impact.
After the lecture, at around 19.30 hours, dinner (meat, fish, vegan, € 17.50) with the speaker will be served in an informal setting. If you wish to attend, please indicate so in the registration form.
